Specialty Business: A term that consists of two separate words "specialty" and "business".

Separately, these two words can be used in many different ways. However, when these two words are combined they create a term that is (in our eyes) very specific. So specific that we base everything we are on its definition.

We consider a Specialty Businesses to be a business or individual that offers a service or product that mainstream businesses either do not provide or do not specialize in. These Specialty Businesses often offer hand made products, custom work, and highly specialized services. They are the types of businesses that bring about the responses like "Wow! What a great idea! I wish I would have thought of that." and "I never knew anybody made anything like this". These are businesses that make shopping fun. They offer a passion in their work and a devotion to their craft.

Niche Market

A Niche Market is defined as a focused, targetable portion of a market.

By definition then, a business that focuses on a Niche Market is addressing a need for a product or service that is not being addressed by mainstream providers. You can think of a Niche Market as a narrowly defined group of potential customers.
